In 1993, a Coalition of three chambers of commerce was formed to provide a focused business voice on key legislative and transportation issues for Western Virginia. Originally made up of the Roanoke Regional Chamber, The Franklin County Chamber and the Martinsville Henry County Chamber, the Coalition has now grown to fourteen chambers and is officially known as the Virginia West Business Legislative Coalition.

Through the Coalition, the individual chambers and their members join together to provide a focused business voice to the Virginia General Assembly on issues relating to improving Virginia's business environment. The combined effort of these chambers of commerce facilitates a successful grass roots lobbying arm for business as well as a dialog designed to open new opportunities for economic growth.

The Coalition, staffed by the Regional Chamber, shares resources and information to provide quality communications between the region's business communities.
